Tumblr is one of the major nations in the Derp Cat universe.

History[]

Founding[]

Conflicts[]

Tumblr would often find itself in conflict with Kekistan due to their drastically differing belief systems. After a particularly detrimental worsening of relations due to raids perpetrated by both sides, the two nations engaged in a long and bloody war which came to be known as the 4chan-Tumblr Wars. The war would end in a stalemate, with neither nation being truly victorious. A never-ending Cold War would begin between the two nations, and Kekistan and Tumblr would remain enemies though their war was over. Tumblr would become a member of the United Memes, much to Kekistan's ire, when the organization formed. Luckily this helped maintain peace and so far war has not broken out again.

Current[]

Tumblr continues on to this day, its people offended by almost everything, pleased by nothing. The nation would also become, rather disturbingly to some, a place with high amounts of pornography being both produced and consumed, though this was later mostly wiped out in "The Purge", an extermination of porn producers carried out by a previous government that was met with great political resistance by the people of the nation. After the Purge, the leaders of this government were voted out of office and Tumblr's political structure was re-ordered so that the government would not be capable of exerting such unilateral decisions in the future. Survivors of the purge were able to flee to other nations, and some were sheltered within Tumblr itself, though the nation has never fully recovered. In an attempt to provide aid, Memeland offered Tumblr a place within the United Memes, which Tumblr accepted. Though this joining was an annoyance to Tumblr's longtime enemy Kekistan, further warfare was essentially prevented by the two nations by their joining of the same multinational pact, and other nations were able to provide aid to Tumblr to help it rebuild from the Purge.

Tumblr has a fairly strong military, being able to hold their own against Kekistan in direct warfare for several years.

Tumblr and Kekistan have been hated enemies for years, but these tensions have been tempered by the United Memes.

Trivia[]

Tumblr was originally intended to be just another cringe faction before being fleshed out into a proper country after the creators of this universe gained a deeper understanding of its sub-culture.
Rather obviously, it is based upon the real life website of the same name.
